It was a literal sick week!

Ponferrada
So, this week was an interesting week. Well the beginning of this week I received my new companion Elder Baerwaldt and with that our adventures begin. We were able to teach some new people new things. Two of these people are friends of ours whose names are Nacho and Denny. We have high hopes for them. We also have hope to find more people this week. But the biggest part of the week itself was I was extremely sick. I was sick after this Wednesday with huge stomach pains and headaches. So, in this last Saturday we were in the Piso all day basically and that was probably not the funnest part of my mission. But at least something good out of it. I learned that we need to have patience. Because at times we want to work but we've get put into situations that we did not like. We just need to have a good smile, try to at least and we will eventually come out of it. And it's also important that we pray for strength that we might be able to be well enough to do a little work. And that day we actually had three lessons. That's amazing!
I love you guys and I wish you the best of luck in your lives.

Intercambiamos!

Well winter has come here in Spain and it's mild compared to the ones we have home. On the bright side, the mountains in Leon have snow capped on top now so that's good to see. The members say it never snows in Ponferrada so I won't be seeing a white Christmas again. Even though this isn't that cold, I'm freezing! I feel as if I'll be a wimp to the cold when I come back home. My new companion might be freezing too. He's from California and has been on the mission about a year.
My new companion, Elder Bearwaldt

The six weeks with Èlder O'Boyle have been a needed six weeks. I'll miss him talking about how the south shall rise again and on how much he is anti-Hillary Clinton. Yeah, we know what happened in the elections. The people here in Spain keep telling us. We dropped saying we're Americans and just saying we're Canadians now. But onto the week.

I feel ready to use the Book of Mormon in different ways than I did before. This whole week we've been placing more focus on the reading and praying about the Book of Mormon. We've been doing follow up calls to our investigators here about their reading in the Book of Mormon. At the beginning no one could say they've been putting the time in the actual reading of the book. ☹️. We then committed them to read it again and the next time we asked them if they did and they did. Because of this, our father decided to shower us with blessings. We are now teaching four new people this week and they are extremely interested in the message. So I ask you to pray for these people if you could.

Well I love you all and wish the best for you.

Con amor

Elder Broadbent.

The week we had was amazing!

The week we had was amazing! We found a new person to teach. His name is Nacho. Yes like cheese. He is super interested in what we have to teach and he has a lot of free time on his hands! So, we might be expecting a baptism soon. Other than that, we were able to pass out nine books of Mormon in the space of four days which is amazing for this area. Although We did have our downsides. We needed to drop three people this week. They were not keeping with the appointments we set and we confirmed with them the day before hand. It´s not their time now, the future missionaries will see them again and hopefully they´ll be prepared by then.

We had an experience this week also that I would like to share. This last Wednesday we had a meeting in Leon with other missionaries. Afterward I was a little down because we didn´t have as many people to teach anymore. Here in Spain it is hard to find new people to teach especially in the winter months. So, we got onto the bus and my companion sat in one seat and me in another. I felt I needed to say a prayer. So, I did a personal asking for a way to get out of this bajón I was in. I looked up and saw Elder O´Boyle talking to someone. I thought I need to talk to someone also so I started talking to the guy next to me. he was awesome to have a conversation with. We talked about our families because he was visiting here and had his family back home.

Afterwards I still had the same problems but I know that we can be happy even when have a load to carry. It´s essential in this life to carry burdens in order experience what true happiness is.

Love, Elder Broadbent.
